Where to find the SiteMinder login
SiteMinder is accessed at the official URL provided by SiteMinder. If you already log in to your SiteMinder property daily, this is the same account you would use — Rmsclaud does not run a separate identity system. If you have never signed in to before, you may need to ask your property’s SiteMinder administrator to grant your user account the API-access role.
You do not need to install anything. The login page is web-based, works in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. Two-factor authentication is honoured — Rmsclaud never bypasses it.
Trigger the OAuth flow from Rmsclaud
Buy a module in the Rmsclaud catalogue, or start an activation from your account dashboard on rmsclaud.org. You will see a button labelled “Connect SiteMinder”. Clicking it opens a new browser tab that lands directly on the SiteMinder login page. You are not on rmsclaud.org any more at this point.
Enter your SiteMinder credentials
Sign in with your usual SiteMinder login. If your account has two-factor authentication enabled, complete the second factor. Rmsclaud does not see your password, your second-factor code, or any other authentication material.
Grant the scopes the module needs
Once you are signed in, SiteMinder shows you a consent screen listing the exact API scopes the module is requesting — for example Rates and Availability for Auto-Discount Engine, Reservations for Guest Data Enricher. Review them. Grant only what you are comfortable with.
Land back on Rmsclaud
SiteMinder redirects you back to a confirmation page on rmsclaud.org. The confirmation page shows the module status (“Active”), the property connected, the scopes granted, and the first-sync log.
Sanity-check inside SiteMinder
Optionally sign back into SiteMinder in a separate tab and check the “External access” section of your account — Rmsclaud will appear as a connected application with the scopes it holds. If you ever want to disconnect, revoke it from that page and the module immediately loses access.
Five things that trip people up
- Wrong property. If you manage multiple properties in SiteMinder, the OAuth flow may default to the wrong one. Use the property selector at the top of the login page.
- Missing API-access role. Not every SiteMinder user has API access. Your property’s admin may need to grant it once.
- Popup blocker. If nothing happens when you click “Connect”, check your browser for a blocked popup.
- Cookies disabled. The OAuth flow needs cookies enabled on both rmsclaud.org and the SiteMinder domain.
- 2FA fatigue. If your two-factor authentication times out mid-flow, restart the connection — nothing was saved.
Rmsclaud is a separate shop
Rmsclaud is a shop selling add-on modules for hoteliers running SiteMinder. Sign-in happens on the SiteMinder login page you already use for your property. There is no separate SiteMinder login on rmsclaud.org — we only receive the OAuth token that issues after you consent.
